Appeal of the Mayor of Wrocław

Students of Wrocław!

In the period of suspension of classes at universities, we are asking you to treat the current situation seriously, for the sake of safety of Wrocław residents, including you and your families.

I call upon to you all: stay at your homes, dormitories, quarters – this way you will help to reduce the risk of spreading of corona virus.

There are over 110, 000 students in Wrocław – You are a very important and crucial group of Wrocław residents. We are counting on you! Please, follow the appeal of the government authorities to minimize our presence in the public spaces.

This is not a period for entertainment!

The fewer meetings and gatherings, the lower the risk of spreading the virus.

Please, think about the most vulnerable for the virus: elder people and less resistant than us.

Knowing, that I can always count on you,

Jacek Sutryk

Mayor of Wrocław

Dorms - information on checking out

Following the decision to suspend all classes at Wrocław universities, the epidemiological safety centre of the University of Environmental and Life Sciences decided that if students remain in dormitories, it will be no less conducive to spreading the virus than participating in lectures or classes. Therefore, bearing the students’ safety in mind, it has been decided that students shall vacate the University’s dormitories, with the exception of persons who are unable to leave or find alternative lodging (including, among others, foreign students). These persons shall retain the right to use dormitories and guest rooms after 17 March 2020, but they must accept more rigorous restrictions, including the prohibition on visits from guests from the outside and on the organisation of parties on the premises.

Rooms are being prepared in the dormitories for students to deposit their belongings which they do not want to take away.

We assume that the process of vacating the rooms will last one week, i.e. until 17 March, but it could be prolonged in justified cases.

Rooms in dormitories belonging to the University of Environmental and Life Sciences shall no longer be rented to guests, and all previous reservations have been cancelled.
