The faculties of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences have new symbols. They were designed by Dr. Łukasz Paluch from the Academy of Fine Arts, who explains how they were created, what inspired them, and whether their creation was a challenging task.

Green urban corridors – a climate awakening

Dozens of parks, squares, and local green spaces connected by green corridors, as well as numerous solutions related to green and blue infrastructure, which enhance the resilience of urban areas to climate change, are among the outcomes of the Polish-Norwegian project involving researchers from UPWr.

Książ Castle Park under scientific scrutiny

Unknown documents, natural discoveries, plans, and most importantly, model cooperation. Researchers from UPWr and the Technical University of Dresden, together with stakeholders and external experts, have developed an integrated concept for protecting and managing the landscape of the Pełcznica Valley under Książ Castle in Wałbrzych. The project, which lasted over four years, was financed by the German Federal Environmental Foundation.

In the final of the 2nd National Veterinary Emergency Medicine Competition for Dogs and Cats, organized by the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, twelve teams qualified, representing various veterinary medicine departments. Among the participants were three teams from UPWr, two of which secured the top spots on the podium, finishing first and second.

Dr. Marta Sylla from the Institute of Spatial Economy will lead the FOODCITYBOOST project on urban agriculture. This European initiative is implemented within the EU's Horizon Europe research and innovation program. Researchers from the Institute of Spatial Economy, the Department of Horticulture, and the Department of Landscape Architecture at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences will be conducting the project.
